PARAPROFESSIONAL PAGE

A Paraprofessional must have a high school diploma or the equivalent, PLUS one of the following:

  • Associates Degree, or

  • 48 Verified College Credits, or

  • ETS-Praxis ParaPro Assessment with a passing score of 455 or higher

Paraprofessional candidates must upload copies of their transcripts from an accredited college/university to prove completion of an Associates Degree or 48 credits earned OR a copy of a passing score on the ETS-Praxis ParaPro Assessment to AppliTrack during the application process.

Candidates who do not currently meet the Paraprofessional requirements:

The ParaPro Assessment is a computer-generated test, created by ETS-Praxis to certify Paraprofessionals. The assessment consists of 90 multiple-choice questions across the subject areas of reading, mathematics, and writing.

As of September 1, 2022, the ParaPro Assessment will no longer be offered at the Nye County School District-Human Resources location. This change was made by ETS-Praxis nationwide, as a result of problems with their Internet-Based Testing (IBT) platform and to provide a better testing experience for ParaPro test takers.

The ParaPro Assessment will only be available at Prometric testing centers and via the “At Home” method of delivery after this date. To set up the “At Home” test, please visit https://www.prometric.com/parapro.

Please visit https://www.ets.org/parapro/test-takers/about.html to find the cost of the test, test preparation, testing locations, and other information. For testing options and scheduling, please visit https://www.ets.org/parapro/test-takers/register.html.

*Paraprofessionals are also required to maintain CPR/First Aid Certification for the duration of their employment.
